Official: John Killa leaves WAFA SC

West Africa Football Academy’s (WAFA) head coach, John Killa has quit the Sogakope-based club after a six-year stint.

The dutch-man qualified the club to the elite division in the 2014/15 season and placed them 12th on the league table.

Confirming the departure, a statement on the club’s official Facebook page said:

“Management will like to thank First Team coach John Killa for his services to the Academy. Killa moves on after six years where he served with his heart and soul.

“He put together a young team which qualified to the Premier League in 2014. His work and dignity will forever remain with us and has become a member of the #wafasc family. We wish him success in his endeavours.”

WAFA is currently 8th on the league table with 20 points.

Killa has played a total of 45 league matches since last season. He leaves the club enjoying 16 victories, drawing 13 and losing 16 matches – scored 43 goals and conceded 38.

He is reported to be heading to the Indian I-league to take charge of Bengaluru FC who won the 2015/16 league.
