The fixtures of the quarter finals of the 2016 MTN FA Cup promises to be interesting as there’s a Wa derby in the pairings held at the Alisa Hotel on Tuesday.
The eight clubs at this stage include Kotoko, Wa Rockets, Wa All Stars and Bechem United from the Northern zone while the Southern has Liberty Professionals, Elmina Sharks, Okwahu United and WAFA SC.
Premier League leaders Wa All Stars will be facing regional mates Wa Rockets as Liberty Professionals welcome division one (zone two) leaders Elmina Sharks at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park.
Premier league giants Asante Kotoko, who had been facing second division sides in the previous rounds of the competition, will in the quarter finals, host fellow premier league clubs Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The last of the fixtures will see Okwahu United play Academy boys WAFA SC at Nkawkaw.
The three second-tier sides and five premiership clubs, who are all dreaming of a place in the semi-final will battle it out on the 18th and 19th of June 2016.
All semi final matches will be honoured at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with this year’s grand final confirmed to be staged at the New Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday August 28.
