Duncan ‘keeping’ Kotoko properties – report

Almost a week after severing ties with Asante Kotoko, coach David Duncan has yet to hand over the club’s properties.

Duncan parted ways with the club after reaching a mutual agreement with the club’s board Chairman Paul Adu Gyamfi.

But the former AshantiGold and Hearts of Oak trainer is still in possession of some of the club’s properties.

Coach Duncan is yet to return keys to his official apartment and a KIA Sportage vehicle which was handed him for his official use.

Duncan has reportedly returned to his family in Accra leaving the KIA vehicle behind. According to sources, a self-styled pastor and close friend to the coach who had been driving him around during his days in Kumasi is in possession of the car.

Appreciation

Meanwhile, coach David Duncan has thanked the entire Kotoko family for his time at the club.

He expressed his gratitude in a signed letter which reads below:

“I wish to express my sincere thanks to the owner and king of Asanteman and Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Otumfuor Osei Tutu for granting me the opportunity to be associated with his club as Head Coach. I will forever be grateful to him for that privilege. God richly bless his kingship.

And to the chief of staff Mr. Kofi Badu and the other Chiefs and Board members of the club under the chairmanship of Lawyer Adu Gyamfi who warmly welcomed me into the Kotoko family. My thanks goes to you as well.

I definitely cannot forget the management under the leadership of Opoku Nti. It may not have been an ending we all envisaged or anticipated, but he still has my respect as a friend, a legend in the sport, and a Christian brother. I wish him personally well in his future endeavors.

I salute the fans of the club under the dynamic and matured leadership of Chairman Amponsah(K5). I will be the first to acknowledge the fact that I enjoyed their unwavering support over the period I had working with the club.

Thanks to all the friends in all the various fields of human endeavor I came into contact with whilst in the city. May God’s grace be multiplied to you all.

It’s with great regret that I leave such a great club, but such is the nature of the industry. We may not have absolute control over how some of its ending plays out.

I take this opportunity to wish the club ALL THE BEST in its endeavors.”
