Ghana’s Christian Atsu ensured ending his loan stint with Malaga on a scoring note as he helped the side to thump Las Palmas 4-1 in the final game of the 2015/16 La Liga Sunday.
Atsu, like compatriot Mubarak Wakaso who also featured for Las Palmas, was a second half substitute.
The on-loan Chelsea winger was introduced in the 61st minute replacing Venezuelan midfielder Juan Pablo Anor. Just as he scored on his Malaga debut, Atsu capped a frustrating season with a brilliant finish, his sides’s third goal of the game after going past his marker in the 84th minute.
Atsu who had gone on a 3-month goal drought made 12 appearances to help Malaga finish 8th at the end of the 2015/16 La Liga.
Wakaso, also completing his loan spell, played the final 13 minutes of the game for Las Palmas.
