MTN FA Cup: Storm Academy request venue change for Kotoko clash to Kumasi

 

Lower tier side Storm Academy have officially requested a venue change for their 2016 MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash with Asante Kotoko.

The club based in the Eastern region have in a letter to organisers of the prestigious competition, the Kurt Okraku-led FA Cup Committee have demanded that their game with the Porcupine Warriors be moved from Mpraeso Stadium to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

“Initially, the match was scheduled for Nkawkaw but the home team, Storm Academy has made a request of a new venue,” Kofi Poku who serves on the FA Cup Committee confirmed.

“The FA Cup Committee is yet to meet and consider the request,” he added.

Storm Academy advanced to the Round of 16 after defeating Kotoko Royals 1-0 in Mpraeso,

The 2016 MTN FA Cup Round of 16 games are scheduled for May 11-15, 2016.
