MTN FA Cup: Samartex set sight on another upset

Samartex FC have given a clearest indication of causing another upset when they face Liberty Professionals in their MTN FA Cup game over the weekend.

The Samreboi lads will be facing the premier league side on Saturday in the round of 16 after sealing qualification with a 4-2 penalty shoot outs at the same venue.

The division One side eliminated the ‘Scientific Soccer Lads’ last season at the Carl Reindorf Park after defeating the latter by 2-1 and will be looking forward to repeat the same feat when they two sides meet again in the round of 16 of the competition.

A member of their communication team, Kwabena Asmah tells Kapital Sports they are getting ready for the Dansoman based side.

“Liberty Professionals is a very good side so we are preparing very well towards the game. The team has been camping since Monday and we are leaving no stone unturned. This game promises to be a big game and we are fully prepared for it.”

“Just as the slogan of the MTN FA Cup goes; ‘obia ny3 obiaa, we have seen what Nania FC did in the past and Samartex we believe we can do same so this MTN FA Cup we are aiming high”.

According to him, “we played Hearts of Oak. We are now playing Liberty Professionals, fortunately we are playing at home. Our home grounds has been fortress this season and we will count on that. We will and move on to the round of eight of the competition.”
