GPL: Dwarfs beat Inter Allies 3-1 (All Goals)

Ebusua Dwarfs finally secured their first full points in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

And the Cape Coast-based achieved the feat in an emphatic manner beating visitors Inter Allies 3-1 in a match day six clash at the Robert Mensah Stadium.

Nicholas Gyan registered the opener five minutes into the game after a goal mouth scramble. Gyan emerged at the end to head in past goalkeeper Kwame Baah.

Inter Allies’ push for an equalizer backfired as the hosts took control of the game after the confidence boosting opener. Dwarfs  then doubled their lead after being handed a free kick in an advantageous position.

Samuel Quayson stepped up and beautifully curled in the ball to put the scoreline at 2-0 on 21 minutes.

Five minutes later Inter Allies responded with yet another world class free-kick strike to reduce the deficit. Midfielder Gockel Ahortor who had scored a free kick in the previous game against Hearts of Oak proved mastering the art of scoring from such situations as he bent his effort over the wall to beat a confused Feank Andoh in post for Dwarfs. 2-1.

Dwarfs managed to keep the status quo to end the first half with their 2-1 lead.

Coach J.E Sarpong effected an early substitution at the beginning of second half as he introduced striker Bright Luqman for Thomas Esso.

Luqman’s introduction further strengthened the Dwarfs front line and he soon showed his predating best 8 minutes into the second.half as he broke free to lob over an onrushing Inter Allies goalkeeper to restore a 2-goal lead for his side.

Inter Allies failed to glitter on the day as Dwarfs ended up increasing their points tally to 5 points with a 3-1 victory on home soil.

Dwarfs temporarily place 10th on the log ahead of 7 other match day six games fixed for Sunday.
