2015 MTN FA Cup champions Medeama SC have suffered an early exit at the round of 64 of this year’s competition after a home defeat to Liberty Professionals on Sunday.
The game which took place at the Tarkwa and Aboso park ended 1-1 in regulation time, forcing the game into penalties which saw the Dansoman-based club qualify to the next round of by a 5-4 advantage.
2014 finalists Inter Allies traveled to pip lower tier side Kristal Palace by a lone goal while Accra Youth FC also secure an impressive 2-1 away victory against Agbozume United.
Division One side Steadfast FC defeated Premier League club Berekum Chelsea at the Tamale Stadium by 2-1 on Sunday with another casualty being Dreams FC who were defeated 1-2 by Okwawu Utd.
Other Premier League clubs who will be missing from the competition in the round of 32 are semi finalists of the 2015 competition, Aduana Stars who were eliminated via penalties 6-7 against Techiman City and also New Edubiase who got sent packing by division two side AC Milan FC.
