I’m not leaving Medeama – Tom Strand

Tom Strand has rejected talks of resigning from his position as head coach of Medeama SC.

The 2015 MTN FA Cup winning coach who is in the final year of his contract withe the Tarkwa-based side was reported to have tendered in a resignation letter Tuesday.

Strand, 35, has been absent from the Tarkwa-based side’s training sessions this week due to ill health.

“I’m not leaving Medeama,” Strand told Footy-GHANA.com.

He continued: “I’m recovering from malaria [which has kept me out for] a couple of days now. I became sick after we won the game against Al Ittihad.”

It was also reported that some elements in the struggling Kotoko camp made contacts with the former Bechem United, a claim the club has flatly denied in an official statement Tuesday.

“I’m also hearing a lot of rumours and I will like to straighten it up. There’s no contact… but I’ll take it easy and not talk too much,” Strand said in denial.

I’m happy that Kotoko fans are excited about me,” he mentioned.

Strand did not travel with the Medeama team for their match day 5 outstanding league match away to Berekum Chelsea. The team was led by technical director Evans Adotey for the Wednesday Ghana Premier League encounter.
