Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie has called on the leadership front of Accra Hearts of Oak to position itself properly so as to attract sponsors using their head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
Hearts major headline sponsor has been SAS since 2012.
The club has recently signed on Abova Mineral Water as their official water sponsor for one season. There are also others said to be in the pipeline for the Phobians.
With all the trickling sponsors into the club, George Afriyie thinks they can still strategically package themselves to attract huge sponsorship.
“It depends on how they [Hearts] will position and packages themselves. If nothing at all, we have the Toyota Company here in Ghana. We all know is a Japanese company and other electronic companies all from Japan,” he told Kumasi-based station Boss FM.
“It depends on how you position yourself using the coach. So it depends on how Hearts of Oak will package and associate themselves with the coach, they can definitely attract some level of sponsorship into the league,” he added.
Hearts signed a deal with Polar Electro, a company based in Japan last year December. It was reported that Kenichi played a huge role in helping the club sign the deal.
