GPL Wrap: Hearts in comeback win; Kotoko, WAFA, City get home wins

In-form Hearts of Oak continued their impressive start to the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League by securing their fourth win on match day 5 away to Inter Allies on Sunday.

The hosts took a two-goal lead through Frederick Boateng and Gockel Ahortor but the Phobians turn the game around with three goals in the final 22 minutes.

Isaac Mensah began the comeback when he reduced the deficit in the 68th minute. Substitute Musah Ibrahim the scored twice in the 81st and 90th minutes respectively to hand Hearts a further three points, moving their tally at the top to 13 points.

At the Nana Ameyaw Park, Techiman City continued their 100% home record through a solitary strike from Baba Mahama over Dreams FC.

Wa All Stars kept to second position after beating Edubiase 1-0 at home. Richard Arthur finally scored for the Wa-based club in the 64th minute after initially squandering a penalty in the first half.

WAFA also scored full points at home as captain Martin Antwi bagged the only goal in their encounter with Liberty Professionals.

Asante Kotoko finally secured a first win with a 1-0 scoreline over Sekondi Hasaacas on Friday. New signing Kwame Boateng scored for the porcupine warriors in his first full game for the side.

Bright Adjei’s final minute bicycle-kick goal forced champions AshantiGold to a 1-1 draw at home to Aduana Stars on Saturday. Osei Baffour’s penalty goal in the first half had given the Miners the lead.

The Bechem United home clash with Ebusua Dwarfs produced no goal while the encounter between Berekum Cchelsea and Medeama SC at the Golden City Park has been shifted to March 30.
