GPL: Bekoe hits out at Duncan

When Hasaacas lost to Kotoko in the league meeting, it was loaded with subplots from preview to review. Eric Bekoe was one of them.

The player, who was once the superstar of the Reds – winning the league goalking with them in the 2007/08 season – featured for Hasaacas. ‘The Hurricane’ did not have as much impact as he would have liked, but that was not his main problem.

The forward, post-game, accused David Duncan of insulting him in their 1-0 in Kumasi. The game was turgid, physical and frustrating in equal measure, and emotions were high.

“My performance was the best. I think we were rather playing against the referee and not the team and I was so much surprised at the coach,” Bekoe told SuperSport.

“As a respected coach, that we all know and he behaved as he did on the touchline was not the best. “To call me and insult me doesn’t look professional. What he did was uncalled for; we are all playing professional football and you have to know how to talk to players. Whether you’re a coach or not. The way he did wasn’t fair,” the player said.
