HEARTS: Owusu Bempah heaps praises on new boys

Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Owusu Bempah has lauded the impact of new inclusion into the team on recent performances displayed in the league.

They defeated FA Super Cup winners Medeama by two goals to nil at their home grounds. The two goals scored was their first time in 15 games.

Hearts are on cloud nine at the moment, having won two matches out of two in 2015/2016 league season, picking six points and yet to concede a goal as well.

They did not only defeat them but ended their 22 home games unbeaten run in the league.

Bempah, speaking after the game said, their tactics worked to perfection.

“We wanted to frustrate them and make sure they don’t score in the first half. Second half, we came in strongly and we made sure we take them on counter and it worked.

“We are happy that our tactics worked to perfection.”

The former U-20 skipper cleared earlier misconception that they recruited second hand players but have really showed their worth in their two matches played.

“We started the inclusion of players into the team; people were saying Hearts of Oak are buying second choice players. And I think they have proven themselves that they are really good players.

“On a good day, they can perform, and I think that this performance is top there, we are happy for them.”

According to the club’s official twitter account, their win was the first time since 1965 at the Tarkwa and Aboaso Park.

Hearts will play away from home to 13th place Ebusua Dwarfs on match day three next weekend.
