Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies have named captains ahead of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League.
The team now have goalkeeper, Osei Kwame as the new captain with Simon Martey and Gockel Ahortor as deputy and 2nd deputy captains respectively for the new League campaign.
The goalkeeper, in an interview with www.interalliesfc.com, the new captain expressed his desire and dedication to lead the club.
“I’ve always been a believer of the saying, ‘actions speak louder than words’ and I want to set an example for everyone, not just my teammates,” he told the club’s official website.
“I am very honoured that the club have appointed me as captain and am looking forward to continuing to lead our program for the season.” he added.
Osei was the safest pair of hands last season with 18 goals conceded in 27 appearances and 13 clean sheets in the Ghana Premier League.
Another regular member of the side, a senior player Martey has been named vice captain of the team. Martey is a utility player and has a lot of experience to lead the team in Osei’s absence. Midfielder Gockel Ahortor has been appointed as the 2nd vice-captain.
Inter Allies begin their Premier League campaign on Sunday, welcoming Aduana Stars to the Tema Stadium.
