GET READY: Duncan charges players ahead of new season

Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan has told his players to get ready for the start of the Ghana Premier League season.

“The delayed new season is closer than it was before and you should report any injuries or ailments for the prompt attention of the medical team,” he said.

Addressing his charges at Adako Jachie after training last Wednesday, Duncan talked about the progress being made as far as the season was concerned by informing them that player registration was to end before midnight that day.

“So we will know the players we are taking into the season after today”.

Wednesday’s training was the first time the team that went to Libya and those that played in the FirsTrust G-6 tournament were meeting, and David Duncan used the opportunity to explain to the players that nobody has any automatic first team place as yet.

He said he left out some players for the Libya trip because he needed to leave behind a strong squad capable of winning the Top-6 trophy. “We had two competitions and we needed to present good squads for both.

We had to make sure that we didn’t disgrace ourselves in any of them. Everything now is back at ground zero. We are all starting afresh”.
