FIVE A WEEK: SuperSport to increase GPL match day coverage

Ghana Premier League Tv rights holders, SuperSport have revealed their plans to expand their weekly games coverage for the 2015/16 season.

Last season saw the South Africa-based cable TV giants, in conjunction with the Premier League Board (PLB) begin the telecast of three live games per week – a match each on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

And SuperSport Chief Producer for West Africa, Siboniso Ngubane, has reiterated his outfit’s plot to further extend their production to five live games per match day in the coming season.

“We plan to increase coverage to 5 matches every weekend. One on Friday and two on Saturdays and Sundays. We will have a discussion with the Premier League Board on the modalities,” he said at the Ghana FA’s Media and Marketing retreat at the Alisa Hotel on Monday.

“SuperSport is totally committed in promoting Ghana and as such we have made showing of match highlights free to the local T.V,” Ngubane added.

SuperSport have held the Tv rights to the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup since signing a three-year deal with the Ghana FA in 2013.
