Following a good footballing year for striker Samuel Tetteh, the teenager got his competitive senior team debut Tuesday.
With the Black Stars on their way to a win in Kumasi, coach Avram Grant brought on the 19-year old for a run against Comoros. The Fifa 2018 World Cup second leg qualifier completes a year in which he has played for the CHAN team, and the U20 national side.
Tetteh has also been prominent for the West African Football Academy, a local Premier League side, and this experience will do him a world of good.
He would also forever remember this game because he came on for Ghana’s all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan in injury at the Baba Yara stadium.
Tetteh was the only outfield local player called up by coach Avram Grant, and is also a rare callup in a national team where such calls have become very scarce.
He has already played in the Black Stars’ September friendly with Congo.
