Yaw Preko and Yakubu Nasamu join Hearts technical team

Accra Hearts of Oak has appointed Yaw Preko and Yakubu Nasamu as Assistant Coach and Goalkeepers’ trainer respectively.

Former Black Stars player Yaw Preko will provide technical assistance to new head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

Preko is the assistant coach of the national U20 side, the Black Satellites, and he is expected to bring his experience in youth football on board to help the team for the next three years.

A cult-hero in his ephemeral playing days with Hearts in the 1990s, Preko understands the ins and outs of the club and he will be following in the footsteps of Ofei Ansah (of blessed memory), Ben Adjei, Nii Noi Thompson, and a host of other illustrious former players to contribute their quota to the technical staff of Accra Hearts of Oak after their playing careers.

Meanwhile, Yakubu Nassamu has also been appointed as the goalkeepers’ trainer of Accra Hearts of Oak. Nassamu is the current goalkeepers’ trainer of the Ghana national team but he joins from Medeama where he helped the team to win the 2015 MTN FA Cup.

Nassamu is a former player of Accra Hearts of Oak. The former goalkeeper manned the posts for the Phobians in the ’80s and he has been handed the responsibility of training the current crop of Hearts goalkeepers.

Everyone at Accra Hearts of Oak is happy to welcome back our former players, Yaw Preko and Yakubu Nassamu, and we wish them a successful stay with the team.
