Tijani Joshua: Defender FAILS to impress Enyimba, returns for extension talks with AshGold

AshantiGold defender Tijani Joshua has reverted to Ghana to negotiate contract extension with the Miners after failing to land a deal with Enyimba International FC.

The defender was reported last week to have completed talks with the Nigerian giants and signed for them together with compatriot Fatau Dauda but Footy-Ghana.com’s sources revealed there had been no agreement with the lateral defender rather at the Aba-based club on trials.

Our sources also reveal that Tijani has returned to the country to hold talks with AshantiGold for a possible contract extension. The failure to land a deal after trials with the People’s Elephant was his inability to impress the technical team headed by coach Gbenga Ogunbote.

The Local Black Stars player was offered a new deal by the Obuasi-based outfit at the end of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League after the expiration of a three-year contract but he dragged feet over agreeing to the offer.

Joshua, who is adapt at playing every position in defence is open to offers from all clubs but currently, Footy-Ghana.com can authoritatively say he is considering an extension with the Miners which he won the 2014/2015 Ghana Premier League.
