TABOO: Sacked Joe Addo accused of facilitating Kenichi to Kotoko talks

Accra Hearts of Oak have axed Chief scout Joe Addo after engaging in acts that amount to a breach of his fiduciary duty to the Phobians, top club sources say.

An official release Thursday however states otherwise. According to the statement, the former Hearts player has “left his position by mutual consent” after an “internal restructuring exercise.”

Joe Addo’s future with the club appeared to be on the brink when he was stripped of his Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager position prior to the start of the ongoing season but kept on with the scouting role handed him.

Footy-Ghana sources however maintain that content of the release explaining Joe Addo’s departure can best be described as a smokescreen while revealing that it rather links with recent rumours that underfire head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi had been contacted by arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.

The Japanese-American trainer, in his infamous “clear the air” post on Facebook detailing situations regarding the club’s failure to meet their financial obligations, debunked rumours that the porcupine warriors had met him over a potential switch to Kumasi.

Joe Addo has allegedly been cited for breaching his fiduciary duties by organizing a supposed meeting between the embattled Hearts coach and some officials from arch-rivals Asante Kotoko. The porcupines are said to be in search for a new coach after asking David Duncan to step aside.

Among other issues used against Joe Addo includes his open support for Kenichi in a reported outburst with head of the team’s Strategic Management Committee Vincent Odotei Sowah.

Kenichi disappointed

Accra Hearts of Oak Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has expressed disappointment with the decision of the club’s management to sack their Chief Scout.

The coach has taken to his official Twitter to show his disappointment at the decision.
