Swansea boss confident of Ayew stay amid exit speculations

Swansea coach Francesco Guidolin is optimistic Andre Ayew will stay with the club for the coming season, despite reports of several offers for the attacker’s services.

The 26-year-old has been impressive in the club’s pre-season activities, scoring two goals thus far.

Guidolin, who arrived at the club in May, says he is not bothered about speculations making rounds about Ayew’s possible exit.

“My job is to train and to get the team to play well and to get good results. I am confident he will stay,” Guidolin told BBC Wales Sport.

“It is important to keep him, but it is not my job.

“Andre is a good guy and a good player, I hope he stays with us but I don’t know.”

Striker Bafetimbi Gomes is close to leaving the club and heading to Olympique Marseille.

Ayew scored 12 goals for Swansea last season, winning him the highest goal scorer’s accolade.

Footy-Ghana understands the former Marseille man is on the radar of West Ham, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Sunderland and Newcastle were reported to have made offers for the Ghana international last season.
