Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak are set to play a ceremonial game on March 5.
The two most glamorous clubs in the country will play a friendly game as part of activities lined up to celebrate the 60th anniversary celebration of Ghana as an independent nation.
Footy-Ghana can confirm that though agreements are yet to be fully reached, both clubs have given their initial consents ahead of a scheduled meeting with organisers next week.
The game will be honoured at the Accra Sports Stadium, if confirmed.
This will be the first meeting between the bitterest rivals in the year before they clash in the ongoing 2017 Ghana Premier League on match day 8.
The last time the two sides met in a ceremonial encounter was on July 1, 2016 during the celebration of Ghana’s Republic Day. Kotoko were victors on the day.
