Sports Minister cautions Black Stars gates ‘looters’

Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has issued a stern warning to anyone who has an intention of ‘stealing’ from the gates during matches of the Black Stars.

It will be recalled that the minister who doubles as a Parliamentarian in April this year lamented on how much money is lost because of the many supporters union who do not pay to watch Black Stars games.

According to him if all members of the various supporters union pay for the matches, it would go a long way to help the ministry raise funds to support the growth and development of football and sports in the country.

The issue of gate proceeds seems to be vital for the legislator and has issued a stern warning against anyone who tries to manipulate proceeds at the gate.

The Black Stars will on Friday 7th October 2016 begin their quest for a slot at the Russia 2018 World Cup against Uganda at the Tamale Sports Stadium and the former sports journalist is cautioning anyone who has an ulterior motive to stay off.

“I have said that if I have to do certain things which will even necessitate that I sacrifice my brother in order to make Ghana sports better, I will do so”.

“Trust me, if anybody tries to step on my way against sanitizing revenue generations at the gate at Black Stars matches, that person will be in a hell of a fight,” he added.

The minister has been known for his firm stance on fighting corruption within the football circles.
