SELF-INFLICTED: Desperate Samudeen aggravates injury, set for lengthy spells out

Hearts of Oak midfielder Samudeen Ibrahim is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after aggravating his injury.

The playmaker suffered an injury to the right dorsum of his foot on the opening day of the 201/16 Ghana Premier League against New Edubiase and has since struggled to gain full recovery.

Footy-GHANA.com understands the player only suffered a swell on his ankle and was predicted to return after two weeks but his desperation to quickly return to action led to his seeking extra care from another physician aside the club’s staff Okyere Baffour Agyei who had been treating him.

Further information gathered indicates that the promising player after realizing his situation was worsening, went back to the club’s physio who detected the midfielder might have sought for extra hands in bid to return to the field early.

According to club sources, Samudeen’s actions have indeed worsened matters and is set to stay on the sidelines for more weeks to come. He has been scheduled to meet one Dr. Bulley at the Korle Bu Hospital next week for further assessment and treatment.

The new development, it is feared, will see last season’s Division One League best player sit out for at least five weeks if not more.
