Stand-in coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Michael Osei says his team is very much ready to face Bechem United in the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup.
This will be the second meeting between the two sides in the season after Kotoko handed Bechem a painful defeat at their home grounds in the Ghana Premier League on match day 12.
The Brong Ahafo club after the draw claimed it is a good opportunity to avenge the defeat suffered in the league but coach Michael Osei points out that although they are wounded and are coming all out this time, his side has what it takes to win the duel for a second time in the season.
“Individually, I know one or two players who have joined their team [Bechem] and I know how to counter them,” Osei said at a pre-match conference.
“It will be an interesting game. We are very determined and at all cost… Playing at home, it has to be at our advantage so we qualify for the next stage of the competition. The team is ready for the game.
“We are taking our matches one after the other and the immediate one is against Bechem, which is very important for us because it is a knockout match.
“We have gone far with our preparation towards the game. I do respect Bechem because they gave us a tough test when we played against them in the league.”
Asante Kotoko will play against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.
