MTN FA Cup R16: Storm Academy to host Kotoko, WAFA get Mighty Royals

Sixteen teams have been drawn to battle out for slots in the quarter finals of the 2016 MTN FA Cup.

The draw held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Tuesday has six clubs from the Premier League and ten lower tier clubs competing in the round of 16 of the competition.

Last year’s runners-up Asante Kotoko have been drawn to play as guests to Storm Academy at the Mpraeso Brighton Park in the Eastern region.

Ghana Premier League leaders, Wa All Stars have also been handed a home tie against Mighty Royals whiles Bechem United will travel to play Real Tamale United(RTU) in Tamale.

Sogakope-based WAFA SC will play hosts to Emmanuel FC as Liberty travel to play FC Samartex who eliminated Hearts of Oak in the Western region.

A match fit to be a premier league battle will be Sekondi Hasaacas playing against Okwahu United in Nkwakaw.

The Round 16 matches are scheduled to be played from Wednesday, May 11 to Sunday, May 15, 2016.

The finals of the 2016 MTN FA Cup scheduled to be played on August 28, 2016 has been confirmed for the newly built Cape Coast Stadium.
