Inter Allies 2-3 Hearts: Phobians stage superb comeback win at Tema

Substitute Musah Ibrahim fired a second-half brace to help Hearts of Oak seal a turnaround win against Inter Allies on match day 5 of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians emerged victors of a second half 5-goal thriller after initially going two goals down at the Tema Stadium on Sunday.

After a pulsating first half, young forward Frederick Boateng pounced on an Evans Mensah cross to punish a sleeping Hearts defense with the opening goal of the game six minutes into second half.

Gockel Ahortor then doubled the lead with a fine free-kick strike which caught goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye agonizingly wanting in his post in the 66th minute.

But the Phobians would not relent as playmaker Isaac Mensah quickly reduced the deficit two minutes later.  2-1.

In the 81st minute, Hearts pulled level through Musah Ibrahim who had come on for Cosmos Dauda. Expereinced forward Sam Yeboah worked his way down the right before squaring the ball to Musah who tapped in from close range.

The equalizer left the hosts under intense pressure while Hearts pushed further for a winner. Their work rate and insistence paid off as Musah Ibrshim again, prodcuced a curl with the outside of his boot to put the ball beyond Inter Allies goalkeeper Kwame Baah just on 90 minutes.

Hearts sealed an impressive comeback as Centre referee signalled the end of the game after exhausting his two minutes additional time.

Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s side continue their lead of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League table with 13 points after picking four wins and a draw in 5 games.

Inter Allies’ youngster Evans Mensah was adjudged man-of-the-match.
