Hearts target quartet signings

After completing two signings over the past week, the recently formed Hearts of Oak Strategic Committee are targeting the capture of close to five more players before the Ghana Premier League registration window shuts on January 20.

Prior to their participation in the G-6 tournament, the Phobians signed centre-back Richard Akrafi from Wa All Stars and have now added goalkeeper Samuel Ayaliga Akurugu from Sekondi Hasaacas to their ranks.

Footy-Ghana understands that the Phobians are in advanced talks to land long target Bernard Ofori from New Edubiase United. It is understood that the long-serving forward of the Bekwai side has favoured a move to Hearts of Oak ahead of a rival offer from Caf Confederation Cup campaigners Medeama SC. Officials of both the Phobians and Edubiase, according to our sources, have all but agreed on a fee with payment terms being sorted out. Ofori himself is expected to meet Hearts officials to seal his personal terms in the company of Alex Ackumey on Friday, a footy-Ghana source further disclosed.

In what appears to be a move for forwards, the Phobians are also in talks with three other players; Samuel Yeboah and Agbashie Dotse (who featured for relegated Heart of Lions and Great Olympics respectively last season) as well as free agent Bismark Idan. The latter who was recently linked to potential Premier League newcomers Techiman City FC was spotted at the Hearts of Oak training grounds on Thursday. Idan however did not train with the side.
