Hearts Board Chairman Togbe Afede with outgoing MD Gerald Ankrah

Gerald Ankrah resigns as MD of Hearts

Managing Director Gerald Ankrah has resigned from his position at Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak after 15 months in charge.

Ankrah’s official reason(s) for resigning is yet to be made public but club sources say the former GIBA boss got fed up with interference from the board and the newly formed strategic committee headed by Vincent Sowah-Odotei.

He is said to be also disregarded by the team which took charge of recruitment and key decisions by also not providing funds for his execution.

Ankrah took over from Neil Armstrong Mortagbe in September 2014 after the ex-FIFA Marketing Consultant was interdicted and fired.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and decided to quit ahead of a board meeting on Monday.

Meanwhile, Vincent Odotei (Obama) is said to take over Accra Hearts of Oak as the acting General Manager.
