Ghana defender Emmanuel Sowah Adjei will be seeking to stake a claim for a first team place at Anderlecht when the side comes up against Gent in the Belgium Pro League Thursday.
Adjei, 18, arrived at Anderlecht in December from Dreams FC and signed a one-year contract with an optional season. He has enjoyed an impressive run with the youth side and featured in 4 UEFA Youth League encounters.
Anderlecht are facing problems for the position of right back since the announcement of the long injury to Andy Najar and Coach Besnik Hasi is hoping to replace him with the Ghanaian.
Sowah Adjei’s impressive with the U19 which saw him get a promotion to the A team and had his first training with the side on Tuesday.
If he is able to impress his coach, he will see his fortunes turn for good at the club since Najar is expected to be out for about six (6) months.
