Ghana’s Super Cup for the 2014/15 season has been set to come off on February 7, footy-Ghana.com understands.
The one-off match which will herald the upcoming season will be between AshantiGold and Medeama SC at a yet to be confirmed venue.
“I can say the Super Cup between AshantiGold and Medeama will come off on the 7th of February. We will confirm the venue in the coming hours,” Ghana FA spokesperson, Ibrahim Sannie Daara mentioned.
“The start of the Premier League has been set for February 20 and I can confirm it will start along with the Division One League. All teams will play 30 games,” he added.
Traditionally, the ‘champion of champions’ clash is between the winner of the Premier League and the FA Cup and this year’s will be no different.
AshantiGold emerged champions of the 2014/15 Ghana Premier League with Medeama also secured the MTN FA Cup title.
Last season, there was no Super Cup game as Kotoko were crowned “automatic champions” due to their winning of the double – the Premier League and FA Cup at the end of the 2013/14 season.
