“I feel good,” says Dwarfs coach after first league win

Ebusua Dwarfs trainer, Ernest Thompson Quartey is highly elated after his side secured their first win in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Mysterious Club recorded a 2-1 victory over Dreams FC at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday to complete match-day six of the 2019/20 season. The all-important win breathe life into their dying campaign, having lost all five games before this encounter.

Goals from Seidu Abubakar and Albert Ato Hammond handed Thompson Quartey’s charges victory, with Kwame Otu snatching the consolation.

Coach Thompson Quartey, in his post-match interview, stated that the win will propel and lift the side from its precarious state.

“Well, I feel good… it’s been coming all this while.

“We were expecting this because when we took over, it’s just been a week-and=a-half and we’ve been working very very hard to improve on the players’ condition and other technical aspects of the game and, that has brought on board the improvement.

“It (tactics) paid off, and from here I believe we’re going to move on and on.

“It’s been very difficult but thank God, this will actually calm the nerves of our supporters, the players themselves and, we on the technical bench because it now gives us the impression that with a little push, we can make it.”

The victory puts Dwarfs on same points – three – with King Faisal and languish at the bottom of the 18-club league after six rounds of matches.

Ebusua Dwarfs will next play as guests to AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium coming Sunday.
