Black Stars Management Committee chairman, George Amoako wants Ghanaians to support the team in their quest to end the 38-year trophy drought in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The top football administrator spoke at the ‘Meet The Press’ meeting in Accra, stating the set target for new Black Stars coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor.

“We have been to the Afcon several times and the target is simple to lift the trophy and it requires the support of everybody”.

“It has been set by all Ghanaians. It is the wish of every Ghanaian to see the Black Stars win the Africa Cup of Nations after a long wait.

“Winning the AFCON would be a difficult task and it would require the effort of everyone to make this work,” the Asante Kotoko General Manager concluded.

Akonnor has been tasked to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon. He replaced Kwasi Appiah who led the team in the 2019 Afcon.
