Wafu Women’s Cup: Cote d’Ivoire into final with win over Mali

Hosts Cote d’Ivoire booked a place in the final of the inaugural Wafu B Women’s Cup of Nations after beating Mali on Thursday.

The Ivorians won 2-0 in the first semifinal of the competition at the Parc des Sports de Treichville.

And it was winger Nina Kpaho Zote who emerged the heroine again for Cote d’Ivoire. She did so with a quick-fire brace in the  first half, scoring within a three-minute interval from the half-hour mark.

Cote d’Ivoire will now play the winner of the second semi-final between rivals Ghana and Nigeria in Saturday’s grand finale.

Nina Kpaho Zote’s brace won her the woman-of-the-match award – her second in the competition after winning it first in the tournament opener against Ghana.
