Young Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru will not play a competitive game for Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg in the 2017/18 season as the club has loaned him out again.
He has joined Wolfsberger AC (WAC) where he is likely to get regular playing time for the rest of the season.
Ashimeru, 20, was signed from Ghanaian top-flight side WAFA SC on a four-year deal in summer 2017. He was quickly sent on loan to feeder side Austria Lusternau, where he impressed with twelve appearances and a goal in the first half of the season.
“Ashimeru was last loaned to Austria Lustenau. The 20-year-old Ghanaian signs a loan agreement with RZ Pellets WAC until the summer of 2018,” the Austrian champions announced.
The playmaker is making an upgrade and will be looking forward to his debut for Wolfsberger when the Austrian Bundesliga resumes on February 3. The relegation-threatened side host Rheindorf Altach at their 9,000-capacity Lavanttal Arena.
Meanwhile, the other Ghanaian contingent at Red Bull Salzburg have also taken loan spells. Winger Samuel Tetteh, who has recovered from a serious knee injury, will be hoping to bounce back to form as he joins LASK Linz while David Atanga has been given out to bottom club St. Polten, all in the Austrian top flight.
