Inter Allies have confirmed the signing of former WAFA SC midfielder Richmond Lamptey after beating off competition from Asante Kotoko and other foreign clubs.
Lamptey, 20, has been a free agent since December when he secured a free agent status from the Ghana FA. He left the Academy boys after over a five-year spell.
Footy-Ghana.com can reveal that Kotoko moved to sign the attacker at the time but his focus, per discussions with the Porcupines, was on a move abroad with a trial opportunity at South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns offered him.
However, after over a month, Lamptey has been snared by Inter Allies who have made some impressive signings in the transfer market ahead of the upcoming 2017/`8 season.
“I am very excited to be here at Inter Allies, the Club has great plans and I’m happy to be part of the project,” he told interalliesfc.com.
Richmond Lamptey made 26 appearances for WAFA SC with an assist and a goal, helping the side to finish 2nd at the end of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
Last year, he was an integral member of the Black Stars B team and played in Ghana’s failed bid to qualify for the ongoing 2018 Chan in Morocco.
