Egyptian giants Al Ahly will play La Liga side Atletico Madrid in a friendly scheduled for Alexandria on Saturday, December 30.
The match, per the confirmation by the Spanish La Liga side, is aimed at raising funds for the victims of a recent terrorist attack in Egypt. The funds will go to the families of the victims of last month’s attack at a mosque on the Sinai Peninsula, where over 300 people died.
“After returning from their Christmas vacation, our players will have their final match of the year against the most successful Egyptian and African team,” read an Atletico statement.
“It will be an encounter in which peace and the spreading of it will be the main aim, promoting a message of love between people.
“All the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the families of the victims of the terror attacks in Egypt.”
The Ahly-Atleti game will come off at the Borgh-al-Arab Stadium.
