Kotoko players paid GH¢5000 bonus for FA Cup success

It was reward for hard work Tuesday morning as Asante Kotoko players received a GH¢5000 bonus each for winning the 2016/17 MTN FA Cup.

Club Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei made good of a promise to the team prior to Sunday’s grand finale, a match the Porcupine Warriors thrashed their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak 3-1 in Tamale.

Striker Sadick Adams scored a hat-trick, all coming through in the first half to help the club attain their ninth FA Cup title.

A tweet by Kotoko’s official twitter handle announced the payment Tuesday afternoon:

Kotoko are GH¢50,000 richer for winning the 2016/17 MTN FA Cup. They are also secured a place in next year’s Caf Confederation Cup which also comes with an extra GH¢100,000 cash support from sponsors MTN.

Meanwhile, the team has gone on a three-week break and expected to return late November for pre-season preparations.
