Defender Harrison Afful, who was declared not fit to play, has made a quick recovery to captain Ghana against Congo in Brazzaville on Tuesday afternoon.
Coach Kwasi Appiah has ringed five changes to the starting lineup which was held to a 1-1 draw in the Group E 2018 World Cup qualifying clash in Kumasi last Friday.
The Black Stars are without the Ayew brothers, Andre and Jordan as they could not travel with the team due to thigh and stomach problems respectively.
Afful takes over the right-back spot from Joseph Attamah who had a debut to forget in Kumasi while Jeffrey Schlupp has been dropped for Lumor Agbenyenu.
Ghana’s central midfield has been further tightened with the inclusion of Afriyie Acquah. He is expected to form a midfield triangle with Ebenezer Ofori and Thomas Partey.
Young winger Thomas Agyepong has been handed a start on the flanks likewise Christian Atsu.
Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, who has been in a rich vein of scoring form at the club level, starts as Ghana’s sole striker at the Stade Municipal de Kintélé in Brazzaville.
Kickoff for the game is at 14:30 GMT.
