2018 WCQ: Ayew brothers out, Gyan doubtful for Ghana squad

Andre Ayew and his brother Jordan will not be available for Ghana’s international matches next month.

They have both been omitted from Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah’s yet to be named squad to face Uganda in a 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier in Kampala on October 7 as well as a proposed friendly match with Saudi Arabia for October 10 which looks on the cards, sources say.

Also, Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan could be given a further respite after missing Ghana’s last game due to injury despite making a return for his Turkish club Kayserispor.

Like Gyan, the Ayew brothers also missed the return leg demolishing of the Congolese, a game in which Thomas Partey scored a hat-trick in a 5-1 romp.

Andre pulled out of the game due to a muscle injury while Jordan could not make the trip after suffering an upset stomach.

Footy-Ghana.com is yet to ascertain the official reasons for coach Appiah’s decision to not invite the brothers for October’s assignments.
