Midfielder Winful Cobinah has lashed out at referee Emmanuel Dally Gagba’s performance in Sunday’s derby between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in Kumasi.
The match, an outstanding Ghana Premier League match day 23 fixture ended 1-1 after the Porcupine Warriors were handed a contentious penalty. That led to the match ending even.
Cobbinah who led the build-up to Hearts of Oak’s match opener sounded hurt by refereeing decisions in his post-match reactions.
“We didn’t lose concentration, stamina or anything. When they [Kotoko] equalized, they were on top of us and I can say the referee was also with them.
“I will say it without thinking twice,” a displeased Cobbinah remarked adding “you could see the penalty wasn’t a penalty [sic].”
“He [referee Gagba] made his mind to help Kotoko get at least point and it’s not good for Ghana football. If you are officiating, you have to be fair to everyone. He shouldn’t be doing that,” he bemoaned.
With the draw on Sunday, Hearts of Oak continue to sit third on the log four points behind leaders Aduana Stars who are on 44 from 23 games.
