Asante Kotoko coach, Steve Polack has confirmed that midfielder Ollenu Ashitey is due to be back on the pitch in 2-3 weeks time.
Ollenu is the only member of the playing body yet to recover from the fatal accident involving Kotoko’s team bus on July 12. Polack has now revealed that the former Hearts of Oak attacker has started light exercise and could be ready to play again in a few weeks.
“It’s going to take two or three weeks before he can start playing again. But he’s beginning to get himself into the rhythm; he’s started walking and doing a little bit of exercises so I’m glad he’s out of the danger now.
“But it’ll be two or three weeks before he can even think of playing,” the gaffer said.
Kotoko face Division one side NEA Salamina on Wednesday in the quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup. The winner of the tie will face Wa All Stars in the semis in Sunyani.
