Defender John Boye missed Ghana training on Wednesday with a minor injury.
The centre-back, midway through Tuesday’s session, pulled out because of some pains on his thigh.
Despite receiving care from the medical team, Boye could not shake off the pains enough to be able to join the rest of the team as the Black Stars held their penultimate session towards Friday’s World Cup qualifying game against Congo.
Twenty-one squad members were involved in the session with coach Kwasi Appiah still expecting the arrival of left-back Lumor Agbenyenu and striker Raphael Dwamena. The latter is however widely reported to be pulling out of the Congo games as he undergoes further medical checks following his botched move to the Premier League’s Brighton.
Meanwhile, coach Kwasi Appiah invited three players – Eric Boakye, Kwaku Afrane and Yusif Musah from lower tier side Asokwa Deportivo to fill the void of the unavailable Black Stars trio in Wednesday’s training exercise.
Ghana host Congo at the Baba Yara Stadium at 3:30pm on Friday.
