No haste in appointing Grant’s successor – Oti Akenteng

The Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association led by Coach Oti Akenteng says the FA is not in a haste to replace Avram Grant.

He has revealed that the search for a new head coach for the Black Stars will carefully be under a process that will select the best for the senior national team.

According to coach Oti Akenteng, the work done by the past coach must be assessed to influence the choice for a suitable manager.

“Before we will name a coach we have to do an evaluation of Avram Grant’s work and that will be the tournament inclusive, after the evaluation then we will know what to do next,” he told Joy Sports.

“After the evaluation of Grant’s work we will then look at the kind of coach to go in for, is it a development coach?

“We have to take our time in doing this because we need somebody who will be very suitable for the work,” Coach Oti Akenteng added.

Avram Grant who spent two years as the coach of the senior soccer team, Black Stars agreed to part ways with the GFA after February when his contract expires.

With Grant leaving, several names have emerged as a replacement with notable ones being Herve Renard and Milutin Sredojevic who coach Morocco and Uganda respectively.
