Free agent goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has agreed terms to sign for two-time African champions Eyimba International FC, Footy-Ghana has confirmed.
The Ghana international who has been capped 25 times is already training with the People’s Elephant after refusing to extend his stay with dethroned Ghanaian champions AshantiGold for whom he had played for over a decade.
“Dauda is yet to put pen to paper with Eyimba though every detail of a two-year deal has been agreed.”
“We are happy with him and confident he will sign very soon,” a club source confirmed to Footy-Ghana.
The deal when finalized, will see Dauda, 31, attempt another career stint outside the shores of Ghana.
He had an unforgettable spell with Orlando Pirates and Chippa United in the South Africa top flight after the 2014 Fifa World Cup before returning to old club AshantiGold.
New coach of the Aba-based Eyimba FC, Gbenga Ogunbote is looking to shore up his squad with top players from across the continent as his side return to fight back for the league title they lost to Enugu Rangers in the recently concluded 2015/16 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
Eyimba FC will open their 2016/17 NPFL campaign against Sunshine Stars FC.
