The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has put on hold indefinitely a planned pre-season tournament for Division One clubs.
The new tournament was to be played by four clubs during the pre-season and serve as a supplementary tournament to the G-6 for the Premier League clubs.
Bolga All Stars, Great Olympics and Elmina Sharks who topped their various zones in the just ended division one and gained a slot in next season’s top flight plus the best second placed team in the second tier was to take part in the ‘Top4’.
The clubs will now have to wait a little while longer as the spokesperson of GHALCA, Barima Otuo Acheampong has now told footy-ghana.com the body is under resourced.
“We did not get enough money in terms of sponsorship so we decided to hold on with that of the division one so we can get money for those who are participating in the main G6 tournament”.
Meanwhile the welfare body has changed the date for the G6 tournament from the initial 5th November to 13th November 2016.
