Bechem United reveal pre-season plans ahead of Africa debut

Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United, Kwasi Darlington has revealed his clubs pre-season programme as they prepare for their African campaign.

The Hunters will be participating in the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup after winning the 2016 MTN FA Cup at the expense of division one league side Okwawu United.

In an attempt to get the best out of the campaign, the Bechem-based club will be embarking on a series of training programmes and tournaments outside Ghana.

Darlington who is known in football circles as ‘Prof’ in an interview with footy-ghana.com said: “We are resting now and will resume on 20th October to start pre-season but we have series of programmes. We will be going to Burkina Faso from the 12th to 18th and then we will go to Turkey from 10th-25th January.”

He explained that, “The one in Burkina Faso is a tournament, after the two or three matches in the tournament, then we will play Burkina Faso Champions and then the local national team and then when we come back, we will prepare for the journey to Turkey where we will play Antalyaspor and some big clubs from Russia,” he continued.

According to him, Bechem United will on Sunday 2nd October organize a special thanksgiving service for the just ended season.

“We have to do a thanksgiving and a dinner dance and that will be on this coming Sunday, and we will see if we can have some dignitaries around so we can appeal for funds to help uplift the stadium of Bechem.”

Meanwhile the club has already set their eyes on some players to augment their squad for next season with Baba Mahama of relegated side Techiman City on their radar. The club has already signed on former Kotoko goal poacher, Amed Toure.

Meanwhile their defender Alfred Nelson has signed a two-year contract extension at the club.
