Kotoko’s Dauda Mohammed handed late Black Stars call

Asante Kotoko teenage striker Dauda Mohammed has been invited to replace injured Ebenezer Assifuah in the Black Stars squad.

The Stars are due to play their last qualifier for the 2017 Africa Nations Cup against Rwanda on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Kotoko forward who has scored eight goals in the Ghana Premier League and has been invited to fill the space left by the injured FC Sion attacker.

Dauda who was part of the Satellites team which failed to secure a ticket to the 2017 African Under-20 Cup of Nations welcomes his first Black Stars call-up.

The injury to Assifuah makes it the second casualty to hit Avam Grant’s squad after Leicester City’s Jefferey Schlupp was replaced by Yaw Yeboah of FC Twente due to fitness concerns.

The Black Stars begin preparations for the Rwanda clash with their first training session on Tuesday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.
