WAFA SC failed to extend their winning run at home to four games as New Edubiase travelled to force a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
A late Prince Antwi strike ensured that WAFA’s 100% record in Sogakope was undone. But it was no surprise that the home team scored through Ghana international Samuel Tetteh. He opened the scoring from the spot in the first half after referee Theresa Bremansu whistled for a hand ball inside the box.
Samuel Tetteh is now joint top scorer with Liberty Professionals’ Latif Atta Blessing with 5 goals.
Edubiase mounted a spirited second-half show and were duly rewarded when midfielder Antwi forced a brilliant lob midway through the second-half. The goal was Edubiase’s first point and goal away from home this season.
