“Our game plan worked” – Yatsuhashi

Hearts of Oak’s Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi believes his game plan worked in their victory against New Edubiase FC.

Hearts of Oak secured a confidence boosting win over bogey side New Edubaise courtesy a late strike from experienced forward Samuel Yeboah.

The new signing from Heart of Lions grabbed his debut goal in the 78th minute after coming on as a second half substitute for Selasi Adjei. The match was the first league game for Japanese-American coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi who took charge of the side in November last year.

And the former Aspire Academy trainer has credited his game plan for the victory.

“In every game we play, we have a game plan. My players try everything to play along the lines of that. I wouldn’t say it was perfect but I think the game plan worked and we did just about enough to win the game,” Yatsuhashi said after the game.

It was a game Hearts of Oak clearly labored and Yatsuhashi has put that down to tough nature of their opponents. It’s the Phobians’ first victory against Edubiase in the last three games.

“Much respect to our opponents. They made it very difficult for us. We didn’t play as well as we would’ve loved to but in the end I was very pleased with the result,” Yatsuhashi concluded.

Hearts of Oak’s next game is a difficult away trip to Tarkwa to take on FA Cup winners Medeama SC.
